‘American Idol’ notes: Jessica Sanchez, Adam Lambert, Jennifer Lopez, and more
We’ve got what is basically a super-stuffed edition of “American Idol” notes for you on this Wednesday afternoon, and we’ll start things off here with what is reasonably big news for those of you who were convinced for whatever reason that Jennifer Lopez was going to come back on the show this coming season: It’s not gonna happen folks.
According to E! News, the re-tooled version of the show has no interest in bringing back one of the judges from the Nigel Lythgoe era, which is probably great news for those out there who felt like she was not bringing anything new to the table except for some powder-puff criticism of the acts once they made it to the live rounds. J.Lo had never completely ruled out a return to the show in the past, saying that she was really prepared for whatever the universe decided to throw at her. Apparently, it will not be throwing her an eight-figure salary as an Idol judge (which is probably what she would have wanted to come back as a judge).
Speaking of Nigel, here’s a new video interview that he did with “Extra” about moving forward, and how he is sad to not be a part of a show anymore that he really put a great deal of effort into. We didn’t like every single decision that he made on the show, but we have an infinite amount of respect for what he did to help change TV.
Ironically, Nigel also says that his ideal judging panel would have included Jennifer, along with Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr.
Adam speaks out on being LGBT influence – There’s no video for this Adam Lambert story, but if you head over to the link here, you can listen to a fun chat that the season 8 star (who has been rumored to be a potential judge for the next season of “American Idol”) gave to a local outlet in Pittsburgh about being an advocate for equality. He also proclaimed that he does not get affected at all negatively when someone tries to protest his beliefs or his message. It’s a good listen if you have some time.
A Jessica video – Finally, take a look below at Jessica Sanchez’s recent appearance on the “What’s Trending” show, where she answered a variety of questions from fans.

Thank God Nigel is gone. I don’t know, maybe he left at the right time….this show has been on tv so long I feel that it’s time to let it die unless new blood and judges can bring it back to life. Adam on the panel would send the ratings through the roof however I would hate to see him connected to a show that had one foot in the grave anyway. Have not watched Idol much since Simon left because for a time the white guy with guitar was always the winner. Have been watching and really enjoying The Voice but this season, AGAIN, country music leads the way. Adam Levine mumbled the words “I hate this country”. Honestly believe he was making reference to the fact that country music always wins. I cannot believe Sasha Allen was eliminated.
HEP.
