‘Downton Abbey’ season 4 spoilers: Michelle Dockery wants Mary to be happy ‘eventually’
For those of you thinking that Michelle Dockery wanted to see her “Downton Abbey” character Lady Mary wallow in sadness and self-pity for her entire life without Matthew Crawley around, think again. She does want to see the character happy at the end of the day, even though this should not come at the expense of the show’s current method of storytelling.
Many of the show’s stars were present in Hollywood this week for an event that celebrated the series and its success, which led to Dockery doing her best to explain the future of her character’s love life. We already know that it will be complicated (as there are many suitors interested in winning her heart), and that there is also not going to be any hurry to push the story along faster than it needs to go. However, what the actress herself has to say (per E! News) is that she is still very much pulling for this character to make it out on the other side happy once the dust finally clears:
“I just want her to be happy eventually … She was, and now she’s not again.”
As for when this could happen, it is possible that you could be waiting for at least half of the season, if not longer. While we know that the new suitors are going to surface for her during this season, there is no confirmation that she will choose to be with any of them prior to the finale. Odds are (at least right now) that there will be a “Downton Abbey” season 5, and it is possible for much more to be addressed at that time.
Do you think Mary should be happy by the end of season 4, or are we all better off waiting a little bit longer in your eyes? We want to hear your thoughts below! Also, be sure to visit the link here if you want to see the latest “Downton Abbey” viral video that is making waves across the internet.
