MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 3 spoilers: Beau Mirchoff on Jenna, Matty, and Collin

With the midseason finale of “Awkward” season 3 looming on Monday night, there is one question on the minds of many: Is Matty finally going to open his eyes a little bit when it comes to what is happening with Jenna’s feelings for Collin? We have to hope so, if for no other reason than that it has become almost painful to watch him be so blissfully unaware of everything that is going on when it comes to his own personal life.

Luckily, it at least seems like the man responsible for the role believes that things will change when it comes to Matty opening his eyes … eventually. Speaking in a new interview with TVLine, here is what Beau Mirchoff ultimately had to say on the subject:

“I think it will change a little bit. The signs have been prevalent, and I don’t know how long… [Laughs] It’s right in front of Matty’s face, and he hasn’t been able to pick up on it. I hope he does. I think most people would pick up on it. [Laughs] So yes, I would say he does eventually.”

But will this moment happen Tuesday night? We can’t say, but we would be beyond shocked if he ends up leaving the episode without more knowledge of his girlfriend’s secret fantasies than he does going into it. Hopefully, he will then also realize that there is something missing when it comes to what he is bringing to the table, and what Jenna is looking for. Is there any way that he can provide that? This could end up being the question for the second half of the season.
