‘Downton Abbey’ season 4: If only it was a musical like this … or not

Downton AbbeyJust in case you thought that the near-endless stream of “Downton Abbey” parody videos was starting to slow down, here’s some concrete evidence that it’s not. As a matter of fact, this may be one of the more ridiculous clips that we’ve seen yet.

The best way to describe this video is to imagine the show set to Madonna’s hit “Vogue,” except with the title being “Snore.” The obvious implication here is that watching the show is boring, and we’re sure that for some people, it would be. We rather appreciate its subtleties, though, which include not having to endure a million explosions on a weekly basis just for the sake of getting eyeballs excited. Some actors who appear in this Funny or Die clip include Vicky Vox and Stephen Guarino. (Just for the sake of warning, there is strong language … like there typically is on most of the company’s videos.)

Funny or Die has had a recent tradition of creating “Downton Abbey” spoofs, with the most-recent one of course being their take on the past few seasons starring Diddy. The rapper / producer publicized the heck out of his clip, which even led to the producers of the show having to issue some sort of statement denying that he had any involvement with the show at all. (Pretty genius marketing, if you ask us.)

There is still no confirmed premiere date for the new season of “Downton Abbey,” but we would be personally shocked if it is not back on the air on ITV at some point in September or October.
