‘Britain’s Got Talent’ final: Steve Hewlett returns as the wild card act
You’ve been waiting for quite a long time to find out who is going to be the surprise addition to the “Britain’s Got Talent” finale, and it is someone that we did not really even have on our radar. Personally, we thought for sure that the choice was going to be between Joseph Hall and James More, but instead we had an act that is famous for making a puppet talk in Steve Hewlett.
So did Hewlett squander this opportunity at all to shine in the final show of the season? Hardly. The man brought out multiple puppets, had some fantastic jokes, and really had some great chemistry with … himself? We’ve seen a ton of ventriloquist acts over the years, and the biggest challenge for them is surprising people.
The moment that he officially won us over was with an appearance of a pair of puppets that bore a striking resemblance to Simon Cowell and Sinitta, and their “dialogue” (if you can call it that) was thoroughly entertaining. Following this performance, the entire judging panel descended into complete chaos. We had a rare public appearance from Sinitta on the show, as she ended up having a little “conversation” between Simon and David Walliams. (This is precisely why we love this show so very much, more so than any other judging panel-based one out there.)
Could this man actually win? We’re still skeptical, but he definitely made an excellent case for himself.
