‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: A lovely reminder on the ‘Wonderland’ spin-off
A funny thing tends to happen during the dog days of summer when it comes to your favorite scripted show: People get bored, and then things tend to spiral out of control on Twitter to the point where they end up being shells of their former selves. For one example of this, just take a look at what is happening right now when it comes to both “Once Upon a Time” and its much-hyped, “Wonderland”-themed spin-off show airing on Thursday nights this fall.
Originally, what was reported about the new season was that Belle is going to be spending some time in Storybrooke, separate from the other group. Then, there were hints that some people from the flagship show were going to be appearing in guest spots on the “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” show, and Emilie de Ravin said that she was excited to see the series as a longtime fan of the “Alice in Wonderland” story, and Josh Dallas said that he would be happy to visit.
Somehow, this turned into a massive internet rumor that de Ravin was leaving the flagship series to become a permanent cast member on the other show, but it’s not true. Executive producer Adam Horowitz has confirmed this a number of times already on Twitter, saying that there is no way that a regular is going to jump ship to the other series, as the two are separate entities. Plus, you also have to remember one thing that is very important: “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” was conceived to be a self-contained story at one point. Maybe that’s changed, but we hope not. We like that the idea of a definite end here, and that it frees up the possibility for some other spin-offs themed around other worlds in the future. Horowitz and fellow exec Edward Kitsis are not going to move a main actor over from their flagship show, only to have them disappear in a few weeks’ time.
Now, we turn back to the fun of the series. If you want to see what Colin O’Donoghue has to say about Captain Hook’s future (and why wouldn’t you?), just be sure to visit the link here.
