‘Supernatural’ season 9 spoilers: Sam and Dean’s 23-episode adventure
For those of you who were confused as to what the episode order for “Supernatural” season 9 was going to be, we now have an answer, and it’s for just as many episodes as the season that aired before it.
In responding to a post on Twitter, one of the show’s co-executive producers in Jim Michaels confirmed that the adventures of Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles were going to last for 23 episodes, which is the same length of time as they did for season 8. For those of you hoping to get the most bang for your full season, this has to be considered fantastic news.
This news could also be potentially good news for another CW series in “The Originals,” depending on what happens to the show early on. The series, like any other new addition on the network schedule, is going to start with a 13-episode order. However, this could easily expand out to a full 22 depending on the ratings, and they could be inclined to make it 23 just so that the two shows could end up running together on the same night all season long.
“Supernatural’s” return to Tuesday night is pretty significant, given that this is where the show started so many years ago. Since then, it has went through a number of significant shifts, whether it be network changes (remember the days of The WB?), moving to Friday nights, and losing series regulars throughout its run. Hopefully as we near some of the show’s final years, we will see many lovely tributes to days gone by, and a pretty awesome endgame set up for diehard fans.
This season is certainly going to be the busiest ever for Jensen. Why? He just became a father! You can read more about it at the link here.
