NBC’s ‘The Voice’: Cassadee Pope’s ‘Wasting All These Tears’ success hyped further
Just in case you hadn’t figured it out, NBC is really thankful right about now for Cassadee Pope. Over the past two years, “The Voice” has been touted as a very successful television show with one fatal flaw: It wasn’t exactly very good at getting its stars to be successful in the real world.
However, that is changing (at least somewhat) with Cassadee’s debut single “Wasting All These Tears.” NBC is so proud that they finally have a hit that they actually created a press release touting the news that the song was #1 on the country chart on iTunes, and #3 overall following her performance on Tuesday’s results show. There are also reports from some insiders that the track is already starting to approach the 100,000 sales plateau, though official numbers will not be released until next week.
Cassadee’s song will get its first real opportunity to test the radio waters next week, when the song officially goes for adds. This is where the song really will be tested, as there is no genre of music more competitive when it comes to rookie artists. She has proven, though, to already have a devoted following, and if she does get on the radio, the good thing about this format is that they will have her back for a very long time.
Could Cassadee have more company / competition on country radio? It’s possible, given that Danielle Bradbery is one of the two current favorites to walk away with the title this season.
What do you think about about Cassadee’s success already, and do you think that there is a way she will maintain it? If you want to read even more on this current season, you can do it over at the link here.
