NBC’s ‘Community’ season 5: Gillian Jacobs, co-star talk possible Dan Harmon return
While there is not anything firmly set in stone just yet, the evidence is starting to point more and more towards Dan Harmon making a return for “Community” season 5. If you doubt this, just try to answer the following question: Would the show’s creator really want to get fans excited about the possibility of something happening if he had no intention of it being so? There are teases, and then there is just being insane. Harmon’s an evil genius (of the best kind), but he’s not insane.
Well, the cast is starting to speak out about the subject of the original showrunner coming back, and for the time being their answers to the rumors are pretty simple: They literally know almost nothing more than the actual fans themselves (or at least that’s their story and they are sticking to it). Yvette Nicole Brown (Shirley) recently joked on Twitter that she finds out all news from the show on the social-networking site, and we also had Gillian Jacobs say at “Comedy Bang Bang” this week that while she “loves” Harmon, she really reads the same news as everyone else. Therefore, it doesn’t sounds like anyone is really in the know.
If nothing else, Harmon can seemingly rejoice in the fact that he has the support of many of the “Community” actors already, which is great stemming from everything that transpired at the end of season 3 leading eventually to his departure from the show. Everything regarding Chevy Chase is already pretty fleshed-out, so there is no real need to keep on regurgitating it here save for the fact that this drama from the past should not be a problem now.
One thing we can say for sure? That even if Harmon’s negotiations fall through, “Community” will have a new person in charge after it was revealed that David Guarascio and Moses Port are not returning.
