‘Britain’s Got Talent’: Will James More get wild card after Francine Lewis, Asanda move on?
We’re going to have shorter views on “Britain’s Got Talent” over the course of the weekend, but we wanted to touch in briefly on Friday night’s new episode and say that James More’s failure to advance to the next round was basically everything that is wrong with the competition series as it is right now.
For whatever reason, the British public at the moment seems absolutely obsessed with voting young singers and performers to advance further in the competition. We’re not necessarily trying to say here that kids should not be allowed to compete, but we would actually prefer to see them a little further down the road when they have had more time to develop and learn who they really are as artists. This is why Asanda Jezile’s elimination came to us a little bit of a bummer; she was good, but More was more accomplished in his craft.
But does James have a great shot at getting the wild card spot? We think so, given that the show has never really had an accomplished magician quite like him, and could use a serious touch of variety in the finale given that this, after all, is meant to be a variety show. He could even have a shot of faring better, given some of the votes for the singers could cancel each other out.
What did you think about this episode, and do you think that the results this season show that there is a problem with the way that the public is voting? Be sure to share your thoughts below!
