‘Royal Pains’ season 5: See Mark Feuerstein rap … seriously

Royal PainsThere are some things in television that we never expected to see in a million years and watching “Royal Pains” star Mark Feuerstein rap like the lost member of the Beastie Boys is one of them.

In the new video below (which comes to us via TV Guide), this is exactly what we see. In something that was clearly inspired by “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and other great ’90s rap-centric theme songs, the actor actually does a pretty respectable job dishing out rhymes that are all about the story of the USA show, including how his brother Evan got married, the complications that came out of the explosion at the end of last season, and even Divya’s relationship with Rafa, which is apparently proof (according to him) that you “never drink and marry.”

For those of you who pay attention, you will probably also love that there is a cameo from “Community” star Danny Pudi thrown in here, as he is going to be doing a guest spot on this coming season. It’s largely just nice to see most of the show’s cast members having a little bit of fun with themselves, and creating something with some serious potential to go viral. When you are in your fifth season, and also on a cable network that has a reputation as the land of standalone stories (though this has changed in the past year), it’s not always easy to get publicity. Therefore, you have to be creative sometimes and think a little bit outside of the box.

What do you think about this video, and does it make you more excited for the new season? If you want to watch the latest season 5 trailer, all you have to do is click here. The new season of the show premieres on Wednesday, June 12 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time.
