‘Big Brother 15’ spoilers: Get ready for ‘100 days of summer’
Yesterday, we shared what is definitely controversial news regarding “Big Brother After Dark” moving from the Showtime family of networks over to TV Guide Network (or TVGN for short). We still don’t know the final details about this, including whether or not there will be swearing or racy subject matter allowed, but we’ll have it for you here soon.
For now, let’s just share some good news. This season is going to be bigger than ever. How much bigger? Think around the lines of 100 days. We knew that this was going to be the longest season ever, but we didn’t have any idea that it would be this big. Given that the houseguests probably move in around 5 or so days before the June 26 premiere, this will take the show past the midway point of September for it’s finale. The logic for CBS doing this seems to be simple: They don’t care how insane some of these people go while inside of the house, they need ratings to stretch their summer programming out for as long as they possibly can. What better way to do this than to keep the show on longer?
As diehard “Big Brother” viewers, it’s hard to complain about it, at least so long as the cast is good. The only downside that comes from having a big cast is that if all of your interesting personalities are eliminated early, you are left with a group of pretty boring people who don’t want to start up any drama. This equals almost instant yawns for viewers everywhere.
What do you think about having a season of “Big Brother” that literally lasts for a full 100 days? We want to hear some of your thoughts with a comment below! Also, to learn what we do know right now about the TV Guide Network change, just be sure to visit the link here.
