‘The Walking Dead’ season 4 spoilers: Andrew Lincoln talks Rick … moving on?
We can’t really say that the words “romance,” “Rick,” and “The Walking Dead” in the same sentence, if for no other reason then he really doesn’t have thoughts of love right about now when he has to try and make sure he’s not murdered by zombies. Can you really blame him for not thinking about? He’s still getting over what happened to Lori, and he has the added pressure now of realizing that his son Carl is turning into something that he quite frankly cannot endorse while also taking care of his baby girl.
When you consider all of his circumstances, it really should not surprise you too much at all that Andrew Lincoln does not see much transpiring when it comes to his character and romance in the near future. As a matter of fact, he had the following to say on the subject in a new interview with TVLine:
“I think that there has to be some kind of mourning time … I don’t think he’s able to engage at all on that level at the moment. I wouldn’t rule it out though.
“I think Sarah Wayne Callies would be phoning me deeply upset if anything like that would be happening in Season 4.”
We have to agree with Lincoln here, though we would love a recording of that phone call to see if any of the strong language Lori used would be allowed to air on AMC. There’s not much of a chance that Rick finds himself a new lady anytime soon, since season 4 will probably continue to be a story about survival and maturation. Plus, you already have the romance quota filled by Glenn and Maggie.
In case you haven’t heard the news, Lincoln was recently nominated for a Critics’ Choice TV Award for his work on the show! If you want to know why we think he’s a worthy winner, you can do so over at the link here.

The ones pushing a romance for Daryl are the Reedus fans that are
crushing on him, they aren’t really watching the walking dead, they’re
watching their own Reedus show. I am hoping the show doesn’t bring in any other romances to spoil the show. I want zombies and drama!

don’t want to see ANY silly romance crap. Glenn & Maggie is o.k. but this show is
not a senseless soap opera, romantic, estrogen romp. All the women bloggers on
the net seem to think it would be “so nice” to see romance with Daryl or Rick or
even Carl & Beth. Get off this idiotic crusade for love. Romantic involvement by
any of the leading men will turn this show into a mushy piece of drivel … don’t even entertain the idea and just let the drama of survival carry on.
