‘MasterChef’ preview: Could a lobster crackerjack actually be delicious?
For us, there is a certain joy in watching “MasterChef” that goes beyond just listening to inspirational stories about people who are trying to cook their way to making their dreams come true. There is also a chance to see some very bizarre, interesting foods that you will never get a chance to see on any other show to save your life.
For one possible example of this, just take a look at the video preview below from Wednesday night’s new episode. In it, a man named Johnny B. is showing off one of his new creations in lobster crackerjack … which is literally exactly what it sounds like. Johnny is clearly from the east coast, so he knows a thing or two about having this delicacy around all the time. Apparently, that’s led to him getting creative.
We really hope that this is good, since Johnny just seems like such a super-cool dude. He’s extremely friendly, has a natural air of confidence about him, and he seems like the kind of guy who wants to win, but will still be okay with his life if he doesn’t. Plus, we’re betting that he will keep making this regardless of whether or not the judges like it.
Of course, the preview does a classic editing cutaway, with Gordon Ramsay saying “popcorn and lobster, that doesn’t real well on a menu” before the title card comes up. Personally, we’re hoping that this quote is followed up with a “but it’s delicious,” and that he gets an apron to move on. There has yet to be a male winner for this show, and Johnny could be one of those guys with a shot. Let’s hope so.
Would you eat something like lobster crackerjack, and do you think that Johnny could be on to something here? If you want to check out our full review of last week’s “MasterChef” premiere, just be sure to head on over to the link here.

Are you kidding? Have you ever tried to make caramel? Do you the experience or palate to combine lobster and coconut and caramel and make it work? This has technique oozing all over it.
