‘The Voice’ UK season 3 official … even though ratings sink
There’s some interesting news coming out concerning “The Voice” UK today, and it really has to be the last thing that you want to see: Your ratings going down the tubes right around the same time that your show gets a renewal for another season.
Let’s start with what may actually make people excited which is that season 3 is official! The BBC confirmed the news on Saturday that there would be another edition of the show on the air next year, even though we’re not sure that this has “hit” written over it at all at this point. After all, Saturday’s show drew 5.9 million viewers, a decent number, but down over a million viewers from its last show over a week ago.
So why did so many people tune out on the series all of a sudden? If there’s one thing to blame it on easily, it would be the Champions League final over on ITV, which surely was a ratings vacuum. However, there was no competition from “Britain’s Got Talent,” so we blame it just as much on the fact that no one in Britain really seems to care about this show after the blind auditions come to a close. It’s a little bit more exaggerated than in America, though “The Voice” season 4 here is also experiencing some drops in the wake of the warmer-temperature months arriving.
Even though season 3 is official, it is not confirmed whether Jessie J, will.i.am, Danny O’Donoghue, and Sir Tom Jones will be back as coaches. Will.i.am in particular is frequently brought up in rumors for other talent shows.
