‘Game of Desks’: Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Game of Thrones’ parody launches tonight!
Jimmy Fallon excels at many things, but if there is one thing that we’ve really come to appreciate him for, it is some of the skill that he possesses to spoof just about any pop-culture phenomenon out there. He’s played Robert Pattinson in a tree, Justin Bieber, and created hilarious representations of “Downton Abbey” (in “Downton Sixbey“) and “Jersey Shore” (in “Jersey Floor”).
Now, we’re about to see something that really has been a long time coming: “Game of Desks.” This is a “Game of Thrones” spoof set within the world of the 30 Rockefeller Center offices of the show, and if it is like anything that Fallon and company have done before, it will find a way to perfectly blend the day-to-day work routine with the themes common in the show. In this case, we’re thinking somewhere along the lines of kings, queens, people being awful to each other, and someone probably taking their clothes off.
In preparation for this big event, NBC has already released some “posters” for the big event, and if Jimmy is really supposed to be the show’s version of Ned Stark, that to us really only means one thing: There is about to be some major trouble afoot for him. We don’t know if we can go as far as to say to expect some beheading to occur, but if the lights go off in the studio, it could be dark and full of terrors. Bonus points to Fallon if he manages to land a real “Game of Thrones” star to appear on this at any point, or if he uses Questlove of the Roots to play Jon Snow, given that the two have relatively-similar hair definition.
What are your expectations for this, and is there another TV show out there that you would love to see Fallon spoof at some point? If you want to also check out the latest behind-the-scenes video for “Game of Thrones” season 3, you can do so over at the link here.
