NBC’s ‘The Voice’ results: Judith Hill, Kris Thomas, and Team Usher fight to survive

The VoiceAfter looking at all of the iTunes voting figures going into Tuesday night’s episode of “The Voice,” there were a few pretty easy assumptions to make. For one, there was no reason at all to worry about whether or not Team Blake Shelton was going to make it through. With their country background and Blake’s Oklahoma roots at this trying time, it was almost a given.

From there, things were a little bit more ambiguous. The biggest question marks were Amber Carrington, Kris Thomas, Josiah Hawley, and even to an extent Judith Hill. Some of the performers received mixed reviews, and others simply did not sell well on the charts.

We were facing a pretty strong possibility that only one of the eight remaining acts had a man in it, and early on, the show did a pretty good job of validating some of our fears.  While Judith was declared safe, the final five who waited to have their fate unveiled were Holly Tucker and the Swon Brothers from Team Blake along with the three that we mentioned earlier. When Holly and Amber Carrington were safe, the writing was on the wall for the boys.

It is sad to see Josiah and Kris go, mostly because they each had some promise. With Kris, the biggest issue seemed to just be producing the big moment he needed for the show. As for Josiah, it was really all about song choice. “Clocks” is not the sort of song that you can do live unless you are a supremely confident performer, and he’s just not there yet.

What do you think about the elimination: Did America make the right choices, or are you extremely sad by this? If you want to check out our full review from Monday’s show, you can do so here.
