‘The X Factor’ USA: Kelly Rowland, Paulina Rubio officially season 3 judges
The wait for your “X Factor” judging panel confirmation is finally over. Days after it was first reported that Kelly Rowland had indeed signed on to join the singing competition, we’ve now learned that officially, she and Paulina Rubio are joining the fold in the place of L.A. Reid and Britney Spears.
This news was first reported by Entertainment Weekly, and we’re sure that the reaction is probably going to be mixed among fans. For some, this means more snarky comments about how the show is going down the tubes, and how these judges are nobodies. Neither one of these statements are true, considering that Rowland and Rubio have collectively sold tens of millions of albums between the two of them. Plus, they clearly were chosen with some sort of chemistry in mind. Both of the seasons of the show, at least when it came to the judges, were not fun. We yawned through the critiques, and if you compare their chemistry to what “The Voice” has with Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, it’s night and day.
The only thing that we’re worried about here is that Fox is not going to have much time to work this out. Auditions for the new season of the show beginning in South Carolina tomorrow, and will continue in some other cities across America prior to the show’s premiere in mid-September. The pressure will be on for season 3 since the ratings weren’t great this past fall, and if the show does not produce a successful artist soon in terms of single sales, the cynics really be hovering over the show like buzzards.
What’s your take on “The Voice” panel: Do you think that these ladies are going to make for great fun alongside Demi Lovato, or are you more concerned that no one will even bother to give them a chance at this point?
