‘Arrow’ season 2: How will [spoiler’s] death impact Laurel?
Over the past several days, we’ve spoken a bit about the road ahead on “Arrow” season 2 for such characters as Oliver Queen and Roy Harper. However, in the process there is a very important person within the story that has been somewhat cast aside: Laurel Lance. She is a woman who finally fell back into Oliver’s arms in the last two episodes of the season, but you still have to argue that the feelings were still there for Tommy as well. She didn’t want to break up with him; he’s the one who walked off.
So how is she going to feel once it really starts to settle in that Colin Donnell’s character is indeed gone? When asked by TV Guide if we’re going to start to see the beginnings of the Black Canary forming here, executive producer Marc Guggenheim masterly dodged the question while talking about something else entirely:
“It’s a catalyst for her to do a variety of different things. It’s going to drive a lot of what Laurel does in Season 2, both good and bad. Tommy’s death will reverberate through the cast of characters and will affect the changes and choices that Oliver makes and that Thea makes. It’s going to affect everybody. It’s not like you’ll never hear Tommy’s name never uttered again. If anything, Tommy is a larger presence in death than he was in life.”
But how does it change Oliver’s relationship with Laurel? That, at least for the time being, is a mystery that looms equally large. The two were starting to move in a positive direction, but she may now be even more desperate to learn what all of his secrets are now that Tommy is gone.
If you were in Laurel’s shoes, would you get closer to Oliver, or pull away after all of this? If you want to hear about the possibility of another DC Comics hero entering the “Arrow” world, you can do so over at the link here.

I would say no if they are trying be be more realistic with the characters then comic book but i think it might change her more then her relationship with oli. I think she will feel more guilt because he died saving her. I think it will effect where she goes from there probably the way her sister dying pushed her. I think the guilt may start to make her do things she would do the way theia didn’t in the beginging of season one.
