‘Dexter’ season 8 trailer: Major [spoiler] ahead for Jennifer Carpenter’s Deb
Are you feeling bummed out to some extent that this is the last season of Dexter? If so, perhaps this will make you start to feel a little better: The new trailer just released by Showtime for the eighth and final season of “Dexter.” It’s a doozy of a clip that is built almost entirely out of footage from this year, and it gives us insight into a few things that we had not seen before in any other trailer released.
1. Things get very bad for Deb – Since killing LaGuerta, she has fallen off the deep end in a way that Dexter was not prepared for. She not only has taken to drug use, but she has a dangerous new boyfriend. Things truly hit rock bottom when she is brought in for a DUI, and at one point, she announces that she has some sort of a “statement” that she wants to make. If your name is Dexter Morgan, the only way to really read this is major trouble.
2. Matthews is back – This more or less confirms that the former captain is back in some position of power after LaGuerta’s death, which we know means some pretty bad news for Dexter given how much communication he had with LaGuerta at the time.
3. Charlotte Rampling is trouble for Dexter – This master of psychopaths is someone who he has to be very worried about, mostly because she seems to understand almost everything that he is saying. Is Dexter going to be her final case study ever?
There are several other great moments in the clip, but we don’t want to spoil every little detail for you here. We do have some more scoop on Rampling’s character that is not in the trailer, and you can see that over at the link here.
