‘American Idol’ winner Candice Glover’s album ‘Music Speaks’ out in July

Remember how we told you that the winner of “American Idol” this season was going to have an opportunity to have their new disc in stores much earlier than any other winner in the past? Well, Candice Glover has been hard at work in the studio while actually still in the competition this year, and thanks to that, you’re not going to be forced to wait any longer than two months in order to pick up her debut album.

Thanks to pre-order pages online, we know now that this disc is not only going to be entitled “Music Speaks,” but we have a firm release date to attach to it, as well: July 16 (or, as we link to think of it, the day “Suits” returns with new episodes).There’s sure to be a collection of songs in here that showcase the best writing talents of those in the Interscope Records family. While Candice co-wrote the lead single “I Am Beautiful,” there was probably not much time at all for her to deal with some of the other songs while working to win the competition.

You can look at this fast-tracked schedule as a blessing and a curse. It’s great news in that the “American Idol” winner will have an album out while they are still reasonably relevant and in the public eye. The flip side? They will have a disc out that they may not have had that much time to collaborate on outside of singing some of the songs in the studio. It could turn out to be a great disc, but some “American Idol” winner albums released in the fall even feel rushed.
