ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2 finale spoilers: Olivia’s meeting … with Mellie?
While there are countless instances of scenes on “Scandal” where we would love to be a fly on the wall (we’re not talking about some of those already-spied-on love scenes, mind you), one has to be the meeting of the minds that we’re going to see during Thursday night’s season 2 finale. Thanks to the reveal that Billy Chambers is the mole, everyone with deep connections in Washington DC is at risk, and this includes both Olivia Pope and, the First Lady in Mellie.
It’s not often that we get a chance these days to watch Bellamy Young and Kerry Washington do a scene together, which is what makes the tension in this one as powerful as it is. With the help of Cyrus and other advisers, they are trying to figure out what the next move should be. Mellie seems to want no part of it at first, and even tries at one point to storm off in a huff. Unfortunately for her, someone stops her with a vested interest in all things the administration: Fitz.
Are the President and his wife going to be together by the time this episode ends? Olivia gave her lover permission in a way to keep up his charade for the public, since she doesn’t want to be the reason why he gives up his career. With that being said, there’s a difference between listening to someone, and acting on their words. Fitz wants to be with her, and seemingly has no problem running the risk of torpedoing his own career in the process. He is a fighter, though, and he looks to keep fighting straight to a possible re-election campaign.
Is this “Scandal” clip not enough for you? We understand, which is why we also have a clip featuring the cast from “Good Morning America” for your viewing pleasure.
