ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 2 finale review: Who died, and did Emily Thorne share a ‘Truth’?
We’ve heard for weeks that the “Revenge” finale would be a bloodbath, but who knew that we would be struggling so much to keep ourselves from drowning in a sea of the red stuff? This was a powerful, shocking, and sad episode that revealed many true colors, and saw us saying goodbye to a few favorites.
Let us begin here by talking about what was at first a warm goodbye to Aiden, a man who managed to completely escape full-on meltdown mode by stripping the Graysons of most of their foundation money, and then taking off. He knew that so long as Daniel knew about who he really was, he was someone who was going to be constantly knocking on death’s door. Therefore, he did the hardest thing of all in trying to saying goodbye to the woman he loves in Emily Thorne, for now. At least there is still some sort of door left open for him to come back someday.
…Or is that really what happened? The funny thing was that Aiden continued his revenge plan without anyone knowing, and this brought him to Daniel’s door in private. Thanks to a good beating, he also gave him a threat: Dump Emily Thorne, or face his wrath.
Distracting as it may be, for now we move on to a literal goodbye: Declan Porter has checked out. We knew someone would die, but who imagined it would be him … after a heart surgery gone awry? This passing makes it clear that Jack has the worst luck ever, and cannot catch a break for the life of him. Poor guy. This in particular was even more stunning than the fact that Conrad was really behind the Initiative all along, and used the attack on his company as a ploy to help with his rise to political power.
As we inched closer to the excellent closing second, there was only one question left: Would Jack actually kill Conrad? The man took everything away, and he had a chance to change him. The only thing that could stop him? The realization that Emily Thorne was the real Amanda Clarke, and has always been. Boom. That is how you end the season! The entire game changes with Jack in the know, but how? Only time will tell.

Um, Aiden is dead. Didn’t you see the moment where Daniel saw Emily’s gun before the cutaway? Then he came to his dad’s event with blood on his wrist that he was covering up. It surely wasn’t from the beating.
