‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6 finale spoilers: Watch a Sheldon and Penny scene

While Sheldon and Penny are not a prospective “Big Bang Theory” couple that we will be shipping anytime soon, it is easy to relish any scene that actually gets the two showing off their friendship … if you can call it that. They’re basically those two siblings that love each other to their core, but refuse to acknowledge it and spend almost all of their time fighting and squawking at each other instead.

For the latest example, the clip below (first posted by TVLine) for Thursday night’s finale delivers big-time. Sheldon is unhappy about the fact that Leonard was asked to do a job overseas rather than him, which we are assuming is somewhat due to the fact that Leonard actually possesses something resembling social skills. The last thing you want to do in another country is expose somebody to Sheldon.

In an effort to quell his jealousy, Penny hands down some “advice”, which is really to fake something through his teeth to explain how “proud” he is of Leonard to him. If Sheldon actually goes through with this, we are already writing it in as a hilarious scene that could be going places. Otherwise, it’s hype without an end result.

Will Leonard actually take this job? We don’t know. If he does, his relationship with Penny changes, and the setting for season 7 suddenly becomes very weird unless he comes back. This is not the only relationship that will be tested in the finale, though, as we will have a chance to see where every couple stands, where they want to go in the future, and we will once again wonder what Amy sees in Sheldon beyond a supercomputer brain.

After a strong “Dungeons & Dragons”-themed episode Thursday night, it’s easy (and understandable) to hope for the best.
