‘Dexter’ season 8: Michael C. Hall continues relationship with Showtime with new show
Even though “Dexter” season 8 may not even be on the air yet, Michael C. Hall is apparently already trying to further along his relationship with Showtime with a potential new project. The difference? This time around, he is going to be taking on a little bit more of a role behind the scenes.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hall is set to executive producer a prospective new series entitled “American Dream Machine,” which revolves around a talent agent / father and his two sons, who try and navigate through the complicated world of Hollywood in the 1970s. If the show does get picked up to series, it is possible that he will play a small role as a part of a much larger cast, but there does not seem to be any aspiration for him to become a leading man here yet again.
Over the years on “Dexter,” Hall has become increasingly involved in the show behind the scenes. He has served as an executive producer on the show for years, and he also is making his directorial debut on one of the upcoming episodes of the show’s final season.
The fact that he is even diving into TV so soon comes as somewhat of a surprise, if for no other reason than that he originally expressed some skepticism of doing anything in the medium after literally spending around a decade and a half working in between this and “Six Feet Under.” However, having a smaller part should enable him to also do some other things.
What do you think about Hall thinking about getting back on TV so soon? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and you can see a new teaser for “Dexter” season 8 over at the link here.
