‘The X Factor’ USA: Demi Lovato a ‘Warrior,’ Simon Cowell changes it up
We are finally starting to near the home stretch in the search for the next judges of “The X Factor,” with the panel for the third season of the singing competition being likely announced during the Fox upfront presentation in May.
So who will these lucky people be? The jury is still out on that one. However, the New York Daily News claims this week that executive producer / creator Simon Cowell has really started to wise up, and in the search for new judges this coming season he is valuing chemistry much more than having a big name. In between the failures of Britney Spears and Mariah Carey on “American Idol” (not to mention the hefty price tag), this is a pretty smart move. It is almost like someone woke Simon up and reminded him that when “American Idol” started all those years ago, everyone on the show save for Paula Abdul was a virtual unknown in America. Now, they are all big stars.
In speaking of judges, Demi Lovato is set to return for more on the panel alongside Simon, and she has just released clips of all of her music for her upcoming “Demi” album on YouTube. This is a pretty interesting move for an artist to make her entire album made available on YouTube for free before the release, and the move here seems to be for her to get people excited about the disc early. Check out “Warrior” below, an emotional track about overcoming obstacles. In a funny “X Factor” connection, Demi’s act from last season in CeCe Frey constantly referred to all of her friends as “Warriors” throughout the season.
