ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5 finale spoilers: Will Esposito, Lanie have a major story

Have you been hoping to see a little bit more of a story update from the world of Lanie and Esposito on “Castle”? If so, it’s certainly understandable. These two have been a popular pairing with fans, even though their story as a possible couple has been pretty nonexistent ever since the Valentine’s Day episode earlier this year.

Sadly, we don’t have any more good news for you now as to whether or not you’re going to see anything else from them this season in terms of major progress. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Marlowe proclaims that for the rest of this season, his focus is instead on Castle and Beckett at least until the end of the season:

“My intent was for the last couple of episodes to turn the focus back to the Castle-Beckett relationship because that’s really what we’re exploring as we go out of the season … And there’s certainly more storytelling to come with our secondary characters and stuff that we’re looking at in terms of positioning us next season. [There’s] some really fun and exciting stuff that we have planned.”

Of course, we’re sure some of you probably have the feeling of “the show hasn’t even been renewed yet,” but it will be. Its ratings have actually looked more impressive as the season has gone on, especially in how it stayed consistent moving from “The Bachelor” to “Dancing with the Stars.” Also impressive are some recent victories against “Revolution.”

So do not fret: Lanie and Esposito will have their time. It just may not be for another few months.
