‘Game of Thrones’ season 3, episode 6 preview: What to expect in ‘The Climb’
It feels almost like “Game of Thrones” season 3 just began, and yet, we are already at the halfway point in the season. Sunday night’s new episode “The Climb” will of course be an important one, as there is only so much time left to set up the events that will take place over a pretty devastating final two episodes of the season.
First of all, weddings will be a theme this week … though not exactly of the desired kind. Tyrion has no real interest at all in becoming married to Sansa Stark, just as Cercei also has no interest in marrying Loras Tyrell. However, this is precisely what Tywin wants, especially so that he can fend off a certain someone in Margaery who is starting to plot for a way in which to have her family take a greater control of the north with Sansa by Loras’ side. (Of course, the man’s sexuality pretty much guarantees that no woman is going to be happy with him.)
Check out the full synopsis for some more of what to expect this week:
“Tywin plans strategic unions for the Lannisters. Melisandre pays a visit to the Riverlands. Robb weighs a compromise to repair his alliance with House Frey. Roose Bolton decides what to do with Jaime Lannister. Jon, Ygritte and the Wildlings face a daunting climb.”
In the competition of “which one of these stories will have a worse ending,” Jaime and Robb have to be neck and neck in some ways. Then again, Robb may out be in front considering that he is actually being proactive in doing a very stupid thing with Walder Frey, whereas Jaime is just being forced into doing whatever he is ordered to do.
We also know already that Theon Greyjoy and Arya Stark will be in the episode, but the word is still out on some other people … including Danaerys Targeryan and Bran Stark, who was also absent for “Kissed By Fire.”
