‘American Idol’ results preview: Have Amber Holcomb, Candice Glover done enough?
Even though there was no actual elimination that took place on last week’s “American Idol” results show, there was still some information that certainly shocked us. For the first time all season long, Candice Glover was actually in some sort of danger of being sent home from the competition.
So is that going to happen again this time? If we had to guess at the moment, the answer to that would be “no.” Typically, being in the bottom two results in a bump in votes, and in between that and some stellar performances during the show Wednesday night, she’s probably going to be declared safe. The same goes for Kree Harrison and while there no one got the final spot thanks to a group performance at the end, she did get to perform later in the show than some of the others.
You can probably guess where we are going with this. We would be shocked if there is an outcome that is any different than Amber Holcomb going home. She has had a pretty good run, and has avoided elimination a few times, even when there were actually still guys left in the competition. However, her Pink cover was one of the worst on the night Wednesday, and she has been in the bottom enough that the voting bump is probably a little less significant.
We do realize that someone else has to join her in the bottom two, and we i probably won’t be Kree or Candice. Angie Miller probably deserves to be based on the level of her performances last night, but she also has a potential advantage in performing a song (in “Diamonds”) that many of her fans have heard her sing on YouTube.
Who do you think will, and should, leave “American Idol” tonight? Be sure to share your thoughts below, and you can read our full review for Wednesday’s show over at the link here.
