‘Homeland’ season 3 spoilers: Official details on Damian Lewis, Claire Danes’ return
For the first time since “Homeland” season 3 first entered the writing process earlier this year, we have some official details from Showtime on the plot. There’s nothing particularly spoiler-y about it, mostly in that you could have seen most of this coming based on what happened during the finale last fall. We knew that Carrie and Saul were going to be forced to deal with the aftermath of one of the worst attacks on American soil imaginable, all while Brody was in hiding over suspicion of a crime that he did not commit. Take a look at the official synopsis below:
“Season 3 opens during the aftermath of the horrific terror attack that decimated the U.S. intelligence apparatus, and prompted a global manhunt for the world’s most wanted terrorist—Nick Brody (Damian Lewis). As Carrie (Claire Danes) and Saul (Mandy Patankin) begin to pick up the pieces of their shattered professional and personal lives, they are swept up in the political and media firestorm surrounding the terror attack and the subsequent search for Brody’s whereabouts.”
The “media firestorm” plays into what we heard recently about the plot involving around the world of technology and social media, which has caused a major shift in the methodology and response to terror attacks over the course of the past several decades. Brody’s story, meanwhile, is much more under wraps. No one knows just how much the character is going to appear, let alone if he is going to have any interaction at all with either Carrie or Saul. Given her place within the agency, we don’t think she’d be able to get away with finding a way to communicate with him without someone else knowing about it.
“Homeland” season 3 is still going to be about much more than just Carrie and Brody. If you want to hear what could be coming up for the rest of the Brody family, be sure to check out the story over at the link here.
