‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6, episode 22 preview: Bob Newhart’s still got it
When you have a television icon guest-starring on your show, you imagine that there is a certain level of expectation that really has to be met. Are they going to meet the high standard that they have set over the course of their career or have they lost that spark? Based on the sneak peek below when it comes to Bob Newhart’s appearance Thursday night on “The Big Bang Theory,” it certainly appears that he is still at the top of his game.
The sitcom icon is going to be playing the role of Arthur, a children’s TV legend that is better known by the moniker Professor Proton. Apparently, the man now does private gigs for people, and he shows up at Leonard and Sheldon’s apartment complex expecting to see some children.
So what happens instead? He gets Sheldon, an avid fan of his ever since he was a child. Newhart’s comic timing is absolutely stellar in these scenes, as he expresses his concern over whether or not he should be afraid of Jim Parsons’ character. Then, he becomes quickly fascinated with the fact that a guy who looks like Leonard somehow managed to end up with Penny, who for whatever reasons is tagging along for the ride here.
We don’t really know what Raj and Howard are up to in this episode, but we really have to wonder why in the world they would not want to be a part of this. If they are scientists, wouldn’t they want to see what an icon in their formative years has to say? Then again, they may have not been infatuated on the subject on the same level that Sheldon was early on in his life.
Does seeing Newhart in action here make you that much more excited for his episode to air? If you want to read some more scoop on the upcoming “Big Bang Theory” finale, all you have to do is click here.
