‘Downton Abbey’ season 4 notes: Allen Leech, Dan Stevens, and a casting tidbit
As anyone who loves “Downton Abbey” and follows most of the season 4 production surely knows by now, trying to find anything out about what is going on with the show is almost like pulling teeth. With that in mind, we’ll just have to take whatever we can, including little hints here and there about what is coming up.
Take, for example, reported news out of Cyprus that one of their own, Ioannis Charalambous, will be returning in season 4 after serving as a background player in the season 3 Christmas special. Here is what he had to say about the experience the first go around:
“We would be filming for 15 hours but I didn’t feel tired at the end of it. I felt happy that I had learned so much and was honoured that I was able to work with such professionals.”
Now, let’s turn to a minute to some stars of the show past and present.
Talk with Allen Leech – Do you want to see the man behind Tom Branson in person? He will be appearing at Sundance London on Saturday for the film “In Fear”, and you can buy tickets and check out the full schedule of events over here.
Dan Stevens’ new composition – In addition to being an accomplished actor, Dan Stevens also serves as an editor for his literary magazine the Junket, and he recently also published a story there entitled “Beyond the Scanners.” It’s a lovely short story about a woman and her dog, and there is a brilliant little punch of emotion at the very end. While we’ll miss Dan on the show, this proves yet again that the man has far more talent than what we saw on TV.
