‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9, episode 21 preview: Cristina gives Alex hilarious advice

What do you do when someone else has the woman you love? According to Cristina Yang, you apparently are supposed to “beat them up.” While we’re sure that there are some majorly serious moments taking place during Thursday night’s new “Grey’s Anatomy” season 9 episode “Sleeping Monster,” this is one that gives us some fun new insight into just how much Alex feels for Jo.

The first thing that shines through on this end is how obvious it is that Alex has a crush. After all, he’s showing all the telltale signs: bashing Jo’s boyfriend behind his back, calling him a “d-bag,” and also giving Jo repeated advice to take things slow with him rather than to be impulsive and jump into anything. Specifically, he chides her for saying that she wants to move in with him, as he proclaims it to be a stupid and very rash decision with someone that she barely knows.

But when is Alex finally going to come clean about his feelings for her? The fact that she is getting set to move in with someone else seemingly does put an accelerator on how long he has to come clean. The longer he waits at this point, the further she slips away. He surely doesn’t want to be the guy to object at her wedding, right? He may have already waited so long that this becomes a precarious situation for him, and his friendship with her could be in jeopardy thanks to any admission of feelings for her.
