‘Dancing with the Stars 16’: Are there hopes to bring back Maksim Chmerkovskiy?
When you consider the crop of celebrities that “Dancing with the Stars” has been able to attract for some of their most-recent, non-All Star editions of the show, it is really not that big of a leap to say that one of the main reasons people watch is to check out some of the pros in action. Cheryl Burke, Derek Hough, Karina Smirnoff, and Mark Ballas are all people who carry with them specific audiences, and it’s no coincidence that until this past week, all four of them were still in the competition.
Of course, it is still understandable why some people feel as though this season is missing something in the Chmerkovskiy department: specifically, they’re missing Maks. The long-touted “bad boy of the ballroom” chose to take the season off while his brother Val competes with Zendaya, but he did make a special appearance this past week for a series of routines. Does this mean that he is open to coming back? We don’t know the full answer to that just yet, but producers would certainly like to see more of him.
According to TMZ, the folks behind “Dancing with the Stars” are really rather desperate to bring Maks back in pretty much whatever capacity that they can muster, even if it is as a choreographer more so than just a celebrity dance partner. One of the problems is that he does need to have surgery on his ankle if he does want to dance again on the show full-time, since the years have led to some serious wear and tear on his body.
Do we think that Maks could come back someday? Probably. He is extremely popular with fans, and he also never said he was leaving forever. This is not the first season in which he has taken a break, and the show often likes to cycle in partners based on who their crop of stars is.
Do you think that “Dancing with the Stars” needs a little bit more Maksim in its life moving forward? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below! Meanwhile, you can also see where we have ranked some of the current contestants by visiting the story over at the link here.

They need a couple of new judges. They are getting very predictable. Maks would never be that. Bring him on.

Maybe DWTS should consider bringing him back as a 4th judge :)

Absolutely they need Maks back! He is the heart of the show.
