NBC’s ‘Community’ season 4 spoilers: Show bosses on finale, possible series-ender
When “Community” season 4 comes to an end next month, we are going to be looking at a number of watershed moments for the show. Jeff Winger is going to be at a point where early graduation is possible, and he has to figure out just how close his relationship will be with his other members of the Greendale family. Meanwhile, we also have to figure out how the rest of the study group will move on without them, and whether or not “Kevin” is finally going to reveal himself as Chang along with his plans to take down the group once and for all. So basically, it’s going to be a silly episode with some sweet moments mixed in.
But if for whatever reason it is the last episode that we see of the show, will it still be satisfying? That is a question that is understandably on the lips of many fans. The ratings have been on the bubble for the show yet again, and while syndication could get the series another order of around 13 episodes, nothing is guaranteed.
If nothing else, show executive producers David Guarascio and Moses Port each seem to be pretty confident that if it is the series finale, it will at least leave fans as satisfied as they probably could be under the circumstances:
“We never really thought about the finale as a series ender … That being said, if it turns out to be a series ender, will it be satisfying? Yes and no. Yes, because it’s a really good episode. No, because it will be sad and frustrating as it will mean the show is dead.”
As per usual when it comes to “Community,” we’re probably not going to find out any sort of formal decision until the NBC upfront presentation in May. What do you want to see happen in the finale?
