‘The Voice’ UK preview: Meet Nick Tatham (video)
On Saturday evening in the United Kingdom, “The Voice” UK is going to be back on the air with a new episode … albeit a little bit later than usual. What’s going on here? Basically, the show is trying to be smart in their thinking that there is probably no way that they can consistently compete against “Britain’s Got Talent,” and in moving to a later time in 8:20, they will be able to go through this without worry over the competition swallowing them alive.
So what does Nick Tatham bring to the table? His talents are clear from the get-go in that he has a rock n’ roll style that could in particular appeal to Danny O’Donoghue. Also, he seems to have the all-familiar emotional story to go along with it, as he uses music to help him deal with Tourette’s syndrome. Think of him in some ways as a “Voice” UK version of James Durbin, who rocked “American Idol” season 10 despite having the same diagnoses.
We are nearing the end of the blind auditions on the show, which for this series is going to be really when the rubber meets the road. The battle rounds were not particularly enjoyed by most viewers, and the momentum came to a screeching halt at times during the live shows. Hopefully, there will be a strong enough group of singers (and also good enough chemistry between the coaches) to keep that from happening again.
What do you think about Nick’s audition based on what you hear in the video, and do you think that he has a shot at advancing deep? If you want to also read our most-recent episode review for “The Voice” UK, you can do so over at the link here.
