‘Glee’ season 4 spoilers: See Chris Colfer, Amber Riley’s McKinley return

GleeWhile we didn’t really see Chris Colfer and Amber Riley on Thursday night’s “Glee” episode “Sweet Dreams” save for the surprise revival of “Don’t Stop Believin’,” the good news is that they will both not only have a pretty significant role to play in the penultimate episode of the season, but they will be doing it from within the familiar walls of McKinley High School.

In case you did not know, this May 2 installment carries with it the title of “Wonder-ful,” and is the long-awaited tribute to the songs of Stevie Wonder. We wish we could say that we were a little bit more excited about the idea of this episode than we are, but the fault here is not exactly Stevie’s. Rather, it is just that “American Idol” has already paid tribute to his music countless times over the years, and we have “Dancing with the Stars” on Monday helping to celebrate his 50th anniversary of stardom with a show on Monday featuring the man himself. Unless Stevie suddenly replaces Brad the piano player at McKinley, the music alone may not excite us.

However, the thought of seeing Kurt, Mercedes, and also Mike Chang back with the gang does bring a smile to our face. Of course, we do still have some questions:

1. Why is Blaine sitting so far back in the room? Wouldn’t he be on cloud nine to see Kurt suddenly back in the same place as him?

2. Are Joe and Sugar even a part of this group anymore? Neither has appeared since “Girls (and Boys) on Film,” though Sugar was at least referenced during the “Shooting Star” episode.

3. Why’s Artie separating himself from the rest of the current students?

Of course, be sure to share your thoughts on this photo below, and you can also head over to the link here if you want to watch a preview for next week’s episode “Lights Out.”
