‘Arrow’ spoilers: Meet a new villain very soon
As we near the season finale of “Arrow,” there are going to be some more new faces turning up who are going to become major thorns in Oliver Queen’s side, and at this very moment, the one that we are looking to introduce is someone who certainly has a rather interesting name: Mr. Blank. he’s apparently going to be a pretty mysterious assassin, whose greatest skill in part is really just continuing to find ways to go reasonably unnoticed.
If you want to hear what executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has to say about this role (which is played by “Angel” veteran J. August Richards), just check out the comments below via TVLine:
“He’s a very cool new villain to add to our rogues gallery … Originally, we were going to try to do Onomatopoeia, a villain from Kevin Smith’s run [of New Earth comics], but Kevin apparently said in an interview that there was no way to bring that character to television and film — and after a while we agreed with him!”
Richards is certainly not new to the superhero game right now, as we’ve also heard that he has a role in the upcoming “S.H.I.E.L.D.” pilot that is being kept under a tight lock and key over at ABC.
One of the benefits for “Arrow” having so many villains is simply that they don’t have to worry as much about various actors signing on for other pilots or doing work somewhere else; they will always have someone around to replace them, and hopefully they will be able to come up with backstories quickly, even if they are not a part of the DC Comics universe.
