Stephen Colbert, Alan Cumming team up for ‘Oopsie-Daisy Homophobe’ (video)

Stephen ColbertHowever funny the “Saturday Night Live” spoof of “Accidental Racist” was with “Brad Paisley and LL Cool J” this past weekend, it still holds almost nothing on the brutal beatdown that Stephen Colbert has just put down on both of those artists.

During “The Colbert Report” this week, Stephen got himself into a pretty heated discussion of what the meaning of this song really is, and just how ridiculous the rapper should feel right about now for agreeing to participate in the song in the first place. (Colbert introduced him as a star of “NCIS: Los Angeles” and an “aspiring rapper.”)

Following this, what really took the cake was Colbert’s performance of his new song “Oopsie-Daisy Homophobe,” which of course is his character’s way of using double-speak to talk about his relationship with the gay community. To play the LL role, he hilariously brought out none other than openly-gay actor Alan Cumming (of “The Good Wife”) in order to take on the rap interlude. The results are just about as hilarious as you would probably expect from these two, and it serves as yet another reminder that Colbert, despite being a nice guy in real life, may be the most brutal host out of anyone in late-night TV.

So does this rule out future appearances from Brad Paisley and LL Cool J on “The Colbert Report”? Possibly, but at the moment we have to say that it was probably worth it, since we got to listen to this.

What do you think about this “performance”: is it funny, offensive, or a little bit of both? If you want to see how Colbert paid tribute recently to the people of Boston following their recent tragedy, you can do so over at the link here.
