‘Dancing with the Stars 16’ results: Selena Gomez performs; who was eliminated?
In some ways, we’re actually finding the “Dancing with the Stars” results shows these days to be as entertaining as the regular programs. Why is that? Thank the producers for really stuffing these shows full of dances rather than filler segments, and for giving us some bloopers from rehearsals that feel less like canned storylines. Plus, there was definitely a moment that got people talking in Selena Gomez’s performance of “Come & Get It,” which is once again Disney supporting one of their own on the show.
Also, there’s always the drama of not knowing the results of America’s voting, which is a huge mistake that both “American Idol” and “The X Factor” have made this past season. Going into the night, we would have assumed that Andy Dick was going home; while he did get the added benefit of going last, he also has been in jeopardy before, and he tied D.L. Hughley for the lowest score on the night.
However, the former “Less Than Perfect” has found a way to stay safe, which means that going last really can be a huge benefit in the right setting. Our three “in jeopardy” dancers were D.L. (his first time in this position), Ingo Rademacher, and Victor Ortiz. With this in mind, we were ready to say bye-bye to the boxer, who knows a thing or two about being in jeopardy already. But wouldn’t this officially be the worst month of his life if he loses his girlfriend and his spot on the show the same week?
It came down to Victor and D.L. at the end of the day, and we were shocked yet again: in a stunning decision, Hughley was actually sent home. The audience booed the move, but in the end it was probably right. He was the worst dancer on the season, and he also didn’t always have the right attitude about it.
