‘Supernatural’ season 8 spoilers: More on a surprising return

Over the weekend, we received a pretty massive surprise from the world of “Supernatural” when we learned that Taylor Cole, who appeared briefly as a possible Sam love interest named Sarah Blake all the way back on the show’s first season, was on set and presumably going to appear again at some point this season.

Well, now there are some more details officially coming in. Zap2It has confirmed that Cole will indeed return to the popular CW series for the penultimate episode of the season. There’s no word on what really brings Sarah back to the world of the Winchesters, or just how long she is going to be staying put.

When it comes to Sam and Dean’s storyline, we see this as some pretty good news. The brothers need something going on in addition to the tablet story, and when it comes to Sam especially, he is in desperate need of a romantic pick-me-up following what we really have to describe at this point as the great Amelia debacle. Cole has an opportunity to be one of the few love interests that people really like, but it will of course depend very much on the story that is created around her.

“Supernatural” is still sadly off this week, but the show will not only be back with a new episode on April 24, but it will run in that spot continuously until we arrive at the season’s end. With a season 9 renewal already ordered, there’s really no reason to worry at all.
