NBC’s ‘The Voice’ battle rounds preview: Sasha Allen vs. Amber Carrington
On Monday night, “The Voice” will be back with a part of the competition that has a tendency to be pretty intense: the battle rounds. All of the remaining contestants will not only have to impress their coach, but try to draw the interest of the other three in the event that they lose. The element of the “save” last year managed to take what was a previously dull part of the competition and make it into something exciting, since there are now so many possibilities for what could happen.
The first video we have below shows off a pair of artists on Adam Levine’s team battling it out in Sasha Allen against Amber Harrington to the tune of Pink’s “Try.” Both are pretty solid performers, but the truth from this perspective is that Sasha dwarfs both her and the vast majority of everyone else in the competition right now. Not only can she sing the living daylights out of any track she picks up, but she’s also extremely versatile. That’s a pretty rare combination to have these days, where so many people like to focus in on one genre.
Meanwhile, the second video below features Jess Kellner and Taylor Beckham, two young women who have the incredibly tough challenge of trying to win over Usher. The “OMG” singer has a very different style than some of the other coaches: he’s not laid back at all, and he legitimately makes you work hard for his praise. As a matter of fact, he doesn’t really give it to either of these singers yet in the videos, claiming that he still needs to be wowed.
What do you think about these videos, and are you excited to see more of the battle rounds? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below! Meanwhile, you can check out just how intense Usher is going to be as a coach by heading on over to the link here.
