‘Saturday Night Live’: Zach Galifianakis returns as host; Of Monsters and Men perform
There was a big announcement when it comes to the upcoming May 4 edition of “Saturday Night Live” made during the show hosted by Vince Vaughn this weekend; not only are we going to be seeing a certain star of the “Hangover” franchise return to the popular series, but it is someone who has had some interesting runs on the show in the past.
That’s right: the beard is back. Zach Galifianakis will be back as a way to help promote his upcoming role in “The Hangover Part III,” and he will be joined by musical guest Of Monsters and Men. This certainly has the potential to be a great show, with one of the real questions being just how much new material can the show craft during the few weeks that it has off for the rest of the month.
This is the third time that Zach has hosted the show, and his two attempts beforehand have been funny, but also at times mixed based on the writing. One of the biggest positives about him coming on is that he does have a pretty big Rolodex of famous friends, so it’s possible that some surprise guests could come by. “SNL” has done well with repeat hosts so far in 2013, with Justin Timberlake and Melissa McCarthy each serving as two of the best hosts for the show as of late.
As for Of Monsters and Men, this is the first time that the group has performed on the sketch show; however, they have appeared on former cast member Jimmy Fallon’s late-night show.
What do you think about this hosting news? Be sure to share your thoughts below! Stay tuned, as we’ll have a full review of Vaughn’s show up later in the evening.
