‘Homeland’ season 3 spoilers: Who will we be seeing less of?
If you watched the season 2 finale of “Homeland,” one thing is pretty clear: the CIA is in shambles, and with Nicholas Brody on the run, we’re simply not going to have as many opportunities to see the same crew of characters as often as we once did.
With that in mind, the following news should not come as a surprise. According to a new report from Deadline, David Marciano, who has been a part of the Emmy-winning Showtime drama since its pilot, is not going to be a series regular for the show’s third season. He had received this promotion for season 2 after recurring for the show’s first go-around, and the door is still open for him to make appearances moving forward to assist Carrie and Saul with whatever they need (which could be quite a bit, given what transpires).
This is the second major change of status for “Homeland” season 3 when it comes to a cast member whose character is still alive. Diego Klattenhoff (Mike) was given similar news earlier this year, which serves as an indicator that at least one aspect of Brody’s past (and even his family life) will not be as big of a story on the show as it once was. There are even still questions about how much Damian Lewis will appear in the new season, but don’t expect there to be a change in his status anytime soon. Even if Brody is absent for the first episode or two, last year taught us that it is only a matter of time before the character finds a way back into Carrie’s life.
