‘True Blood’ season 6: Two new characters and a [spoiler]
While usually the seventh episode of “True Blood” in a season is just past the halfway point, the shortened ten-episode order for season 6 means that it’s going to closing in on the end. This is around the point that you have to really start building for the finale, since otherwise you run the risk of not shifting gears quickly enough for the final episodes to make sense.
Let’s begin first of all with the most harrowing detail: according to SpoilerTV, the title for this hour is going to be “The Funeral.” Anytime you see an episode that carries with it this title, it is never good news. (Though then again, a death on this show is pretty much akin to someone getting voted out on “Survivor.” It happens pretty well all the time.)
Now, let’s turn to casting. There are reportedly a pair of new faces that the show is currently hoping to bring on board.
1. King Charles II, who will apparently be around in flashbacks dating back to Prague during the mid-1600s. The time period here certainly narrows down the choices as to who we could be flashing back to.
2. The mother of Nicole, who is the young, ambitious activist who is really trying to make the world a better place. We want to think that a character like this could survive in Bon Temps, but they’re going to be snapped back to reality faster than we can say “vampire.”
In case you haven’t heard yet, the first episode of “True Blood” season 6 will air on HBO on Sunday, June 16, one week after the epic third season of “Game of Thrones” comes to a close.
