NBC’s ‘Community’ season 4 spoilers: First details at possible series finale
Are we looking at the “Community” series finale in a matter of several weeks? That is still not entirely clear, as the NBC show remains firmly camped on the bubble thanks to some pretty low ratings (even by this network’s standards). If it does turn out that the series is going to be closing its doors next month, though, at least it sounds as though the show is really going to be going out with a bang.
There seems to be some confusion as to the episode’s title given that it was once referred to as “Advanced Introduction to Finality,” but the title now appears to be “Heroic Originals.” When you read the current synopsis for this half hour (via SpoilerTV) it certainly makes sense, and it also looks as though Chang is only going to be keeping up his silly alter ego of Kevin for a little while longer:
“Convinced that the study group was destined to meet, Abed pieces together everyone’s past — revealing that their lives have always been intertwined; Chang tries to destroy Greendale once and for all.”
This episode is reportedly the last one of the entire series that will feature Chevy Chase regardless of whether or not the show is renewed; he and the show parted ways after production of this half-hour, and he will not appear in the two episodes airing before this one (which were actually filmed after the finale). We’ve also heard that the writers and producers really went all-out here in creating an epic conclusion, and if the series ends it will certainly do so on a cliffhanger.
