‘Downton Abbey’ season 4 notes: Dan Stevens, Tom Cullen, and a look on set
Our “Downton Abbey” notes today focus on other projects the stars of the show (past and present) are working on, but we also have a look behind the scenes on Twitter for you to look forward to at the end of this article.
Let’s start by taking a look at someone who tragically won’t be appearing in season 4 of the drama: Dan Stevens. At first, it was rather easy to be negative and critical of the actor’s decision, since he was so popular on the show and Matthew was a beloved character. However, the number of movie roles that he has booked seem to prove that the actor ultimately did make the right decision when it comes to finding himself a variety of different roles.
The video below is a trailer from one of Stevens’ latest efforts in “Summer in February,” which is surprisingly not premiering in February. Instead, the movie hits theaters in the United Kingdom on June 14, and there is no word yet on an American release date.
Meanwhile, the following video is something that you can watch from an instructional standpoint featuring Tom Cullen. The actor is going to be on season 4 of the series as potential Mary love interest Lord Gillingham, and in this BAFTA video below he explains a little bit of his background, including how he got into acting in the first place.
Finally, let’s turn to a find courtesy of show site Downton Abbey Addicts, at least in the form of a tweet that gives us a behind the scenes look at some of what the crew does in order to make the show the runaway hit that it is. There are no spoilers here, but it is rather nice to see regardless. Sophie Kanal wrote: “Managing the lighting on set for Downton Abbey #lovemyjob”
Sophie also wrote that viewers will “not be disappointed with the plot,” which is definitely good news courtesy of someone on the inside. If you want to read some more “Downton Abbey” news, including the latest via Maggie Smith, you can do so by just heading on over to the link here.
