‘Glee’ season 4 song spoilers: Hear Blake Jenner perform Elton John
In the middle of what is going to be a very emotional episode of “Glee” Thursday night in “Shooting Star,” it’s going to be easy to forget that there is actually going to be a few songs that take place over the course of the hour (though also less than the average normally on the show).
The fact that it is Blake Jenner’s Ryder Lynn that gets an opportunity to sing the Elton John classic “Your Song” is rather nice in that the character has not really had an opportunity to have too many solo moments, but it’s also a little bit sad when you remember the context. Remember the whole “catfish”-inspired storyline? Well, it’s going places over the course of the episode, as Ryder starts to realize that maybe this “Katie” is not all that she is cracked up to be. Of course, we’re assuming that he performs this song before he really starts to realize that he is becoming Manti Te’o 2.0 in this situation.
We don’t know if this storyline is going to continue much beyond this episode, but there will be some hints at least in “Shooting Star” as to why is the person pulling this stunt on him. There are certainly some pranksters at McKinley High, and there is also someone who definitely has motivation to hurt him. (We’re not saying for sure that they are the guilty party, but their name should be pretty easy to figure out.)
What’s your take on this Ryder performance? It’s a pretty lovely vocal, and we’d love to hear your thoughts below! In addition to that, be sure to check out some more “Glee” scoop on what happens during Thursday’s episode here.

Noone thinks this would be tied up in the Warbler’s possibly catfishing to “get back” at New Direction’s?

Good. “Ryder” is alot more likable than “Jake”. Not sure why, but Jake doesn’t seem as organic as Ryder. Ryder’s much more fun to watch. He’s not in the same orbit as Darren Criss, its hard 2 watch anyone else when Darren is on screen, but Ryder is good!
