‘The X Factor’ USA / UK notes: Carly Rose Sonenclar, Demi Lovato, Tulisa, Simon Cowell
Since “The X Factor” is a show all about music, it only seems appropriate to start this article with some stories related more to the musical side of the show before moving on to production … and this includes some of the show’s judges.
On Tuesday evening (Eastern time), Demi Lovato made a big move to release her new video for “Heart Attack,” which you can see below. There is obviously some sort of meaning that she is going for here using the black-and-white color scheme. This video does have some comparisons to what she did in “Skyscraper,” at least when it comes to the fact that there is no love interest, and she is really just focusing on herself (though from a bit more of a rock-star angle than with her lead single off of “Unbroken”).
Just like “Heart Attack” is blowing up the radio, this video is pretty certain to rack up the page views rather quickly.
Carly’s big news – In going back to contestants at the moment, Carly Rose Sonenclar is getting ready for a major event: her first of many live concerts coming up for later this year. Tickets are going to go on sale Thursday for a show August 10 at the Best Buy Theater in New York City, and you can pick them up over here. This event is being presented in party by Stand Up For a Cure, which continues Carly’s tradition of giving back whenever she can.
Simon’s big revamp – Finally, we’re turning to production of the British version of the series, as the show’s creator in Simon Cowell is promising that for the new season, you are going to be seeing something that is very different.
As a part of a new interview with Radio Times, the music mogul first of all said the following:
“The format is ten years old and any format that has lasted that long, if you want the figures to have a chance of going up, you have to change the format, because the inevitable result is if you don’t, they will go down.”
Cowell also confirmed that Tulisa Contostavlos will not be returning as a judge for next season, which we are rather sad about; while her solo career did not really take off on a level to make her a big-name judge, she was honest and helped to get the ladies of Little Mix to the title back in 2011.

You know Sally – I had the honor of seeing Sir Paul McCartney (…of Beatles fame for you young ones) in concert this past November. The crowd was made up of mostly “old” people. I saw teens looking uncomfortably at their parents who were on their feet screaming, clapping, dancing and having a super time throughout the 3+ hour concert. I think your worries are for naught…don’t underestimate “old” folks capacity to rock out with the best of ’em…We know when it’s time to let go.

“Old” people? One of my teens collects Beatles music and searches for articles, interviews, originals of songs. He’s 17. He likes many genres of music and makes a point to us that music has no “age limit.”

Sally I know what you’re saying, I’ve been to many concerts with my daughter and the screaming teens, didnt bother me one bit. I also agree about a couple of her X Factor performances, but that is completely different than a live show. Fox should have done a better job isolating her voice or had filters on other sound equipment to avoid that…but even then it was only two of her performances. At a live show it won’t be a factor simply because the sound system will be different and hey won’t be catering to a live audience. I really enjoy live music and plan on having a lot of fun so I’m certainly not going to be concerned with anyone else.

@Sally.
adding to my last comment, ‘about teen girls’ – screaming girls wouldn’t stop me from going, I’ll probably be like them, but in a different way. When I’ve been to concerts of my favourite bands, singers i go ‘WILD’ ! :) .. it’s about having fun! I’m disappointed that i won’t be there for Carly’s ‘Once in a life time’ 1st concert .. i really am ;( I would of loved to be there just to support her … ;(
You guys are so lucky that she lives @ your doorstep! .. (in the same town, Country)

@Dan But many people usually complain on Carly’s X Factor videos that they can’t hear her very well because of all the screaming. Yes every concert has a lot of screaming, but concerts filled with many teen girls are the worst.

@Sally….I can understand your concern, but the adults aren’t going to be telling anyone to be quiet. The adults understand the situation and know the teens are going to be having fun and going crazy. As an adult, I encourage the kids to have as much fun as possible besides, going to a concert when fans are really enjoying themselves is a lot more fun. I’ve been to many concerts and with a younger daughter, some teen girl concerts and I’ve never walked away angry, pissed and with the elaborate sound systems, the teens couldn’t scream loud enough for me to not enjoy the music. With that said, I happen to be a huge Carly fan and purchased the VIP tickets so am interested to see where that puts me in terms of viewing the show.

If I am able to get tickets for me and my family 3 girls and a boy I will be driving from Chicago , she has an amazing singing voice. I think its important to support this artist with her first concert. When she get older she will be a Super star and my kids can have Carlys first concert as part of there childhood memories.

Well, time got the better of me this time round, i won’t be coming to her 1st concert in NYC this August, I’ll survive. There will always be other opportunities in the future to do that. Sally your a funny girl, but true in what u say about screaming teenage girls :)
I’ll always be a CRS fan. I wish her all the very best. As what L.A. Reid said @ her 1st audition, ‘a star is born’. Carly you are a ‘super star’ and will always be. I wish her the very best in whatever she decides to do in the years to come, if its acting or singing it doesn’t matter. Carly has fans right across the world, .. especially, ‘down under’ Australia :)

Okay I found out the theater is newly renamed from the Nokia Theater which I did hear of before. It looks like it just changed names recently which is why I never heard of it. I am not sure why everyone has to be so mean. I asked an honest question and a simple answer would have sufficed

Alex….you can send her fanmail (she’ll be getting a ton for her bday) to: Carly Rose Sonenclar, P.O. Box 207, Mamaroneck, NY 10543. That’s the official address.

April 11, 2013 @ 8:11 pm
Carly’s concert will have adults and teen girls, not good. The teen girls will be screaming their heads off, while the adults tell them to be quiet. We all know that teen girls are very load at concerts most of the time. What will make Carly’s concert different? The teen girls will ignore the adults, while the adults end up pissed. Concerts with teen girls you hardly hear the music. Adults have the best time at Carly’s concert! ;)

It’s a huge deal to perform your first solo concert, especially if you’re only 14 years old. I don’t think that Carly’s ever performed more than two or three songs at an event and has never had to carry the talk between songs. Carly is also doing her first meet and greet event before the show. Her family doesn’t want her to be overwhelmed by doing all this before a huge crowd. The girl has guts, doesn’t she?

Gmesh,
I hope this will help you.
I went to ‘Google Earth’ to look up where ‘The Best Buy Theater’ was
and it took me straight to the heart of NYC USA. I then took the little man (orange-icon) and placed him on the street next to where it said it was, and bingo!.. It’s not rocket science, all the best :)

@TedCos,
Sounds very exciting, Carly is amazing singer. It would be so good to see her in concert. Yes, i do agree with your comment – she is a Superstar .. 2100 sounds very small i must admit. 10000 would sell out for sure!
I too am from Australia and I’m wanting to come to her 1st concert so badly, just waiting to see if i can get holidays off work, be disappointed if i can’t.

I am coming from Australia for a week in New york with my wife . Its only once you get to see the first concert of a superstar . And its rare that singers are so nice . 2100 is a ridiculously small venue for her . 10000 and it would sell out .

Ah, that’s so sweet Emily. But Carly has a boyfriend. He plays for the Rye Neck baseball team. I would never say his name. But he’s really hot. And nice just like she is.

I’m going. Vip tickets. Even though I’m not in the carly rose fandom I like her. My mom said she was going to take me and two of my friends. My brother too and he likes her so carly needs to get a restraing order on him ;)

@Paul, It was never my intention to sound “bitchy”. (: I personally think 2100 capacity is a good sized venue for her first live concert as I think E3’s venues aren’t anything to sneeze at either. Others have discounted the capacities, not me. As for my “partially for charity” comment, all I meant was that there are expenses involved that come out of the total proceeds of any charity event and it is also a fact that charity events do have a bigger draw. I have no doubt she could have picked a larger venue and sold it out. That’s my own opinion basing it off both her talent and her notoriety within her own home state.

Paul if you read the other xfactor posts on this website you’ll see that Danni is a fifth harmony insider. so she’s close to them somehow. She was going to say something about carly, melanie amero, and why fifth harmony stayed in LA another month but she stopped herself. So that’s why isabel thinks she works for Simon cowell. So Danni is on these posts saying negative things about Emblem 3 and Carly rose.

Danni, I’m very surprised as Your comments and mainly well thought out and intelligent and I enjoy reading them, your above comment is just bitchy and childish ….what’s up!

I am surprised they picked a 2100 seat venue. Madison Square Garden would have been a more appropriate site for the number of fans I believe will want to attend (charity event or not)….and there would have been no scheduling conflict with basketball or hockey. Maybe she’ll add some shows.

Wow I am sorry for the question. I did. See a group play in a virgin record store once and it was not a real theater that was why I asked

Carly Rose is featured in Teen Vogue. She looks beautiful. She doesn’t look like 13 anymore. In that article, she says she’s working on her debut album. Wow Carly has her name on the marquee before she enters high school :)

Danni, what is that supposed to mean? I think Carly would sell tickets even if it wasn’t for charity. Aren’t you an employee of Syco? BTW, I think it’s ridiculous that you think you know what’s going on with Carly’s situation when you probably aren’t even allowed to listen to negotiations.

I wish I could attend Carly’s concert, but I’d have to drag my dad there and he’s already embarrassing me by taking me to One Direction’s concert. It sucks being 14. Hope those that go take pics and post

Theater holds 2100 and I expect it will be sold out. It is partially for charity after all.

Gmesh, it’s a theater. The staples center here in L.A. is not a staples store. The Best Buy Theater is in Times Square. The Best Buy Theater used to be the Nokia Theater. Don’t you know how to use google?
Scott
April 9, 2013 @ 10:20 pm
Gmesh that is kind of a ridiculous question. One, its Best Buy Theater, note Theater on the end which simply means Best Buy purchased the naming rights just like most every other event venue across the country, typically done for advertising like Safeco Park, Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, Ford Amphitheater, TD Waterhouse Arena, Raymond James Stadium, etc. and you probably could have done a quick search online and seen that its not an actual store. A little common sense to see Theater on the end should have been your first clue, how man retail Best Buy stores have you been to that were Best Buy Theater
B Leigh
April 9, 2013 @ 10:06 pm
It sounds like you’re kidding gmesh, but, if not, tickets are $45.00 minimum and people are flying in from around the world, and the US, to attend. So if it’s just at a Best Buy store, they better move up the date before it closes.
gmesh
April 9, 2013 @ 9:05 pm
Is this a real theater for Carly Rose or is it just in a Best Buy? Not joking I just never heard of this place
