TNT’s ‘Dallas’ season 2 finale spoilers: Ready for the J.R. mystery to end?
When Larry Hagman passed away during the production of “Dallas” season 2 last year, the production understandably changed course in a pretty dramatic way; and now, everything is building up to what is going to be one of the most shocking conclusions in the show’s history.
Who killed J.R. Ewing? We are finally going to know an answer to that question, and it will be revealed during a two-hour season finale that will be one for the ages. The first thing that we should note here is that the promo does, in fact, say “season” rather than “series,” which is most a good sign for everyone hoping to see the show stick around. Unfortunately, the ratings have not been great, so there is going to be a little bit of apprehension thinking that TNT could still opt to cancel the series rather than push forward into season 3. (It’s always our personal preference to know a show’s fate before it ends for a year, but that is not always possible.)
As for what else is going to happen during this episode … let’s just say that there are many mysteries, and that you are going to be very surprised about what happens before the two hours coming to an end. We wish we had more to share with you now, but don’t worry: there will be some more scoop coming a little later in the week, once we get closer to the episode actually coming on TV. Patience may be hard with this sort of mystery at hand, but it is nonetheless still a virtue.

REALLY cheering for another season! The writing is excellent and I love the characters. I really want John Ross and Pamela to stay together. And yes, it is up against tough competition on Monday nights.

I’d wish there was more show than commercials … It seemed like the show ran longer in the old days. They say that show run for 40 minutes., that’s 10 minutes shy of a half hour comedy. The old shows ran for 49- 50 minutes.

The show is great and TBT needs to get behind the show with a renew and more publicity. Sure, ratings were off from the summer, but it faces a lot of competition on Monday nights. Plus, it airs several times throughout the week. This show has great characters, excellent writing and is compelling TV. TNT: Give is Season, 3, 4, 5, 6 and on!!

@Rusty – They actually have a single portrait of both Jock & Miss Ellie hanging in the living room on the show.
@Jefferey – The episodes are available on TNT’s website. The ratings may not look like much, but Dallas is the #3 show on TNT in the ratings and also their highest rated show in the winter. Even the cast and writers are unofficial saying that Season 3 is gonna happen!

Jock’s portrait was owned by Larry Hagman and sold at auction not too long before the new series started. It should be in the new show though. I assume they are trying to save production costs. I belive they would have to pay to use the likenesses of Jim Davis and Barbera Bel Geddes.
